The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) launched the Working with Soil Programme in 2011 to help define professional standards in practical, applied soil science.
An integrated training programme has since been developed to teach the fundamental skills involved in examining and interpreting individual soil profiles and soil variability in the field.
Three training courses will take place in autumn 2018:
Exposing and Describing a Soil Profile (1 day) - 19 September 2018 - Dundee
Introduction to Soil Classification (2 days) - 3 & 4 October 2018 - Bedfordshire
Agricultural Land Classification (2 days) - 21 & 22 November 2018 - Birmingham
You can find out more about the Working with Soil Programme and the training courses available on the BSSS website.
