The Soil Indicators for Scottish Soils (SIFSS) app has recently been updated. It now includes the James Hutton Institute's published soil maps, allowing you to quickly identify the soil type in your area.
You can find out more on the James Hutton Institute's News page.
SIFSS can be downloaded from the App Store. For other non-Apple devices, there is a web-based interface of SIFSS available which is also free to use.
