Securing Scotland's soils in a changing climate follows on from A soil route map for Scotland which was published in 2025. The first phase of work recognised the challenges of improving soil security in Scotland in the absence of an overarching soil specific policy. This next phase builds on the core themes identified in the original route map and suggests high level options for action, an indication of how ready they are to begin, and the key policy areas they could support .
